Rewa regained the lead on the Digicel Fiji Premier League points table after bagging the maximum points in round 12.

The Delta Tigers are now in number one spot with 27 points.

Also with 27 points is Labasa but Rewa takes the top spot due to a better goal difference.

Meanwhile, a lone 36th minute goal by Josaia Sela was enough for Rewa to clinch a 1-0 win over Tailevu Naitasiri at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori yesterday.

The match, played in overcast conditions, saw various missed opportunities by both teams, some in front of an open goal as the keeper was beaten inside the box.

Rewa head coach Rodeck Singh was greatful for the win but not entirely impressed with the team’s performance.

“Not a satisfaction of a performance, it was a poor performance overall and I think it’s an eye opener for us all to regroup and reset for Battle of the Giants,” he said.

They had a long team talk after the game as each player was reminded of their individual roles.

Tailevu Naitasiri on the other hand remained in 10th place.

The top eight teams will have a week’s rest before the pool matches of the BOG from July 26-28 at the HFC Bank Stadium.
