Former FijiFirst party and Opposition member of Parliament Aliki Bia is in support of the Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka and his Coalition Government.
He said he had made his final decision.
“Now that we have been deregistered as a party, we are in the Parliament as an independent candidate,” Mr Bia said.
“But for me, with my decision and the stand in terms of my future in the Parliament, I have made my decision.
“I have consulted with my family and my voters as well and close family members as well.
“I’ll remain as an independent candidate but will be supporting the Prime Minister and the Government of the day.
“If the Prime Minister decides to offer opportunities, to help govern the people of Fiji, I would be more than ready and willing to support him if given the opportunity.
“But I’ll make my stand clear that I’ll remain as an independent but in support of the Prime Minister and the Government.”
