The Digicel Bula Boys arrived in Port Vila, Vanuatu on Sunday night and were welcomed with a festive dinner hosted by the Fijian community.
The atmosphere was filled with joy as families came together and rallied in support of the Bula Boys.
This heartwarming reception was not a first for the Bula Boys; it was a continuation of a cherished tradition that has strengthened the bond between the team and the Fijian community in Port Vila over the years. The sight of familiar faces and the taste of home-cooked meals provided a much-needed boost for the players.
Fijian community president Thomas Bruce has called on the Fijians in Vanuatu for their support to the boys on Thursday as they play the host nation Vanuatu in the OFC Nations Cup semi-final.
“The boys need our support, and we want all the Fijians here in Port Vila to come out and show their support, it will not be an easy task for the boys but all they need is the support of all Fijians here in Port Vila,” Bruce said.
Head coach Rob Sherman expressed his gratitude for the Fijian community’s exceptional hospitality.
As the anticipation builds for the crucial match, the Bula Boys are not only fuelled by their determination to win but also by the unwavering support of their community.
Fiji will face Vanuatu at the VFF Freshwater Stadium on Thursday at 4pm, in a game that promises to be a thrilling encounter.
