Fiji Airways has been ranked the 14th Best Airline in the world by global aviation survey giants, Skytrax.
The airline was ranked in the top 15 after winning big at the 2024 Skytrax Awards in London last night.
At the end of the prestigious awards, Fiji Airways is flying home with trophies for the 2024 Best Airline in Australia and Pacific and the 2024 Best Airline Staff in Australia and Pacific.
This is the second year in a row that the airline has walked away with the Best Airline in Australia and Pacific award.
The Skytrax Awards is an internationally recognised platform where travellers from across the world vote in the largest airline passenger satisfaction survey to determine the award winners, with more than 21 million entries, and 350 airlines featured in the final results.
Fiji Airways CEO and Managing Director Andre Viljoen said being named the Best Airline in Australia and the Pacific for a second consecutive year was a testament to the team’s commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
“Our common purpose is that we fly for Fiji, so we’re committed to bringing our famous Fijian spirit and care to everything we do.
“From booking a ticket, to stepping onboard, passengers are immersed in a genuine warmth and hospitality that only our team can provide,” said Mr Viljoen in a statement.
On top the two awards, the airline also climbed up the rankings of top 100 airlines in the world from its 15th placing last year to 14th in 2024.
“Over the past year we have invested significantly in our people, our fleet and our in-flight experience,” said Mr Viljoen.
“We’ve expanded into new markets and most recently became the 15th member of the oneworld award winning global alliance. As a result, we’re now able to bring our Fijian spirit and care to more and more passengers around the world.”
Fiji Airways executives were in London yesterday to receive the award on behalf of the company.
Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted said Fiji Airways reputation for product and service quality continues to improve, and this has been highly recognised by customers with these top awards.
“We congratulate both Fiji Airways management and staff on these great achievements, who can be very proud of their performance against some larger competitors,” he said.
