Fiji Pine Ltd (FPL) has purchased five new log trucks for its Bua and Macuata forest stations to boost its wood supply delivery in the Northern Division.

In a statement issued yesterday, the company said this will improve its efficiency and sustainable forest management.

“With this addition, Fiji Pine now operates a total of 15 logging trucks: with 10 now based in Viti Levu,” FPL stated.

“We are also investing in a state-of-the-art garage with a tyre service centre and a full-time mechanic based at our Bua Station.

“This expansion not only strengthens our capability but also reaffirms our dedication to supporting local communities and the sustainable management of our forests.”

Fiji’s Pine’s activities in the North, which it said directly benefits 25,000 landowners, are also spawning jobs in the processing factory as well as contracts for forest operations which are logging, cartage, silviculture, forest restocking, firefighting and awareness programmes.

“Landowners get access to facilities such as proper road access, schools, water supply, and electricity and are gifted with over $100,000 for the education of their children this year,” FPL stated.

“Landowner development has also been enhanced through training and business skill improvement so that they can capitalise on opportunities offered through Fiji Pine Group operations.”
