Marist Brothers High School dominated the 2024 National Schools Swimming Age Group Championships with 26 gold, 15 silver and 8 bronze at the Aquatic Centre in Suva.

Swami Vivekananda College came in second with 18 gold, 17 silver and 6 bronze while Drasa Avenue took third place with 7 gold, 6 silver and 3 bronze.

Fiji National Schools Swimming Association president Patrick Bower said  he was over the moon with the number of schools that participated this year.

“It was such a great event,” Bower said.

“The point of this competition was to see how many schools were interested in taking up swimming, which was also my concern as well.

“There are a lot of potential reps and this is the making of what could be the top swimming team in the Pacific.

“I am proud of this year’s turnout and it shows that the sport is growing.”
