A vegetable vendor in Labasa stands out not just for his vibrant vegetables but also for his unwavering support for the Labasa soccer team.
Mohammad Izaz was spotted at Subrail Park with his red hat and flag for Labasa.
Every Labasa game held at the park, whether rain or sun, Mohammad can be found at the park, cheering his heart out for his beloved team.
“They also train at the ground from where I am, Buceisau. I make sure to visit them,” he said.
His passion for football runs deep, rooted in his childhood memories of kicking around makeshift balls with his friends on the streets of Labasa.
“I’ve been selling vegetables here for years now.
“Football has always been my true passion. Watching the Labasa team play is the highlight of my week.”
Despite the demands of his business, he never misses a game.
“Whether it’s a crucial league match or a friendly scrimmage, you’ll see me there.”
He said football brought the community together.
“When the Labasa team wins, we all celebrate. And even when they lose, we stand by them, knowing they gave it their all on the field.”
