The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua team and fans will honour the Melbourne Rebels with the heartfelt Fijian farewell song Isa Isa Vulagi Lasa Dina after their final match at Churchill Park in Lautoka today.
Drua head of commercial and marketing Shane Hussein confirmed the tribute to this newspaper.
“Drua fans will sing the beautiful, heartfelt Fijian farewell song Isa Lei following the conclusion of the match.
“This will be done to acknowledge the contribution of the Rebels’ players, staff and fans as they play their last regular season match of Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific,” Hussein said.
The lyrics of “Isa Lei” will be displayed on the big screen, accompanied by numerous graphics on the LED screens thanking the Rebels for 14 years of memories.
Meanwhile, the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua team received a surprise visit from the senior citizens of the Golden Age Home in Natabua.
Captain Meli Derenalagi expressed gratitude for their visit, calling it a significant motivation for the team.
“We thank them for coming and motivating us. They are always our number one fans and for them to be here today (yesterday), it really motivated the players.”
