A WOMAN who was allegedly found in possession of methamphetamine has been acquitted by the Suva Magistrates Court.
Mei Qing Teng was charged with being in possession of 2.3 grams of methamphetamine four years ago.
The matter was set for hearing before Magistrate Yogesh Prasad.
Before the commencement of the hearing, police prosecutor Corporal Sitiveni Baleitaveuni said the witness and complainant were present in court but no evidence submitted .
Defence lawyer Jiten Reddy told the court the matter was set for trial on November 27 last year, but was adjourned four or five times.
He objected to a further adjournment since there was no evidence provided by the prosecution against his client.
