The construction of the 17-storey FHL Tower in Suva will be completed by year-end.
Fijian Holdings Limited (FHL) Group CEO Jaoji Koroi confirmed this to this newspaper after reviewing the completion timeline more than once, attributed to disruptions caused by global economic and political events, including the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Those disruptions had affected supply chain operations, logistics, and the availability of skilled labour, The Fiji Times had earlier reported.
In its newsletter in March this year, the FHL had stated that 75 per cent of the project had been successfully completed, and a notable 90 per cent of the building’s exterior already procured and installed.
Mr Koroi said at present, they were talking to a lot of potential tenants.
He said there’s a lot of interest for tenancy.
“At the moment, two tenants have taken the space to do their fitouts,” Mr Koroi said.
“The focus at the moment is to try and complete it and then we will look for tenancies, so we’re working together in terms of finding tenancies and trying to complete it.”
The estimated project cost was initially set at $65million.
