POLICE and the National Fire Authority (NFA) are investigating a fire at Ra High School on Thursday afternoon.

The blaze started around 3pm and destroyed two girls’ dormitories and the school’s agriculture workshop.

The dormitories and workshop were empty at the time of the incident.

“The cause of the fire is yet to be confirmed by NFA,” police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said.

“They were wooden buildings with corrugated iron and cement posts, and all were destroyed with its contents.

“The girls’ dormitories were vacant and were only used for examinations.”

NFA officers from Rakiraki attended to the fire at Ra High, which is located at Nalawa, with travelling time of 40 minutes.
