Only concrete and grass embankment tickets remain for sale as momentum builds-up for next week’s Coca-Cola Games in Suva.
Fiji Secondary Schools Athletics acting secretary Biu Colati confirmed that grandstand tickets had been sold out by mid-day yesterday.
The former schoolteacher said the interest for this year’s games was building up.
“It goes to show the interest that is out there for the Games,” Colati mentioned.
He added all the tickets on the grandstand were sold as three-day packages for $55.
The tickets were available on a daily basis for $20 for the first two days and $25 for the last day.
“There was a little bit of misunderstanding. Some people had got some information from here and there and this kind of things always makes the news,” Colati said in regard to the ticket sales being bought into the limelight last week.
This was the first time the tickets were sold online.
“This year, we had to change how we sell our tickets. This is the first time we tried to sell tickets online. We signed a deal with TicketMax to sell all our tickets and it was surprising.
“On the day of the launch of ticket sales, before the launch, I was told there were bookings of more than 2000 tickets, and these were just for schools.”
Colati has recommended those wanting to buy embankment tickets to get them early.
“I would really recommend for people wanting embankment tickets to get them early as they are going fast. We are not reserving any tickets as it’s on a first come first serve basis.”
The Coke Games will be held from next Thursday to Saturday at the HFC Bank Stadium. || Colati on tickets || Cokes
