Discipline is a process that demands a host of moving factors.
This was according to Swire Shipping Fijian Drua chief executive Mark Evans when asked about the franchise’s collective effort in addressing this especially as two of the players are now facing suspensions.
The eventful round seven clash against the Rebels saw Frank Lomani suspended for six weeks after an elbow to the back of the head of Josh Canham and Jone Koroiduadua is out for two weeks for a head-butt.
“Discipline is a process, it’s not an incident,” Evans said.
While their card count has been low since last season, some old demons are starting to creep out, but this can be addressed he said.
“I think we are making huge strides until very recently. We had a low yellow card rate, low penalty rate and a very low red card rate.
“The ones that are more worrying are the ones where we react out of frustration or retaliation, and we’ve got to get back to where we were. There’s a whole host of things, partially about learning to remain calm under pressure,” he added.
Drua is on a bye this week and will be in action next Friday in Suva against the Hurricanes.
