Members of the Fiji Digicel men’s national football side will be heading into camp in May as they prepare for the Oceania Football Federation Nations Cup in Vanuatu.

Fiji Football Association chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf said the side will be camping throughout May before the tournament starts in June.

“They have just returned from the Solomon Islands, and they will be heading into camp in May,” he said.

Yusuf confirmed that the side will be flying out to Luganville in Vanuatu on June 13, where they will undergo their first round of pool games at the Luganville Soccer City Stadium.

“Yes, they will be flying out to Luganville where their pools will be played.”

Yusuf said with this being an OFC tournament, the side will be able to improve their ranking where they currently sit a the 168th mark in the FIFA World Ranking.

“Fiji has been placed in Group B along with Papua New Guinea and Tahiti so it will be an interesting tournament,” he said.

“The two-week tournament will be held from June 15 to 30. “We will be sending the same side that came back from the Solomon Islands which includes our Wonder Boy, Roy Krishna.”
