Swire Shipping Fijian Drua flanker Elia Canakaivata is confident in the team’s preparation, anticipating a strong performance in tomorrow’s match.
With the Waratahs playing in Fiji for the first time and the Fijian side eager to break their record against them, Canakaivata believes a victory is within reach as dust settles at Churchill Park tomorrow.
“We have been training very well, the players’ mood and focus are switched for the Waratahs match we learn from our loss against the Chiefs last Saturday.
“It will be a different story come this Saturday, our plan is to beat the Waratahs,” Canakaivata said.
The 27-year-old made his debut in round 1 of the SRP against Moana Pasifika.
He made 14 appearances for the Drua this season. He acknowledges the learning curve in the first four rounds this season.
“I have learnt a lot of things and have rectified my weaknesses which I have identified and working on myself to improve my weaknesses to be better in the future matches.”
The Fijian Drua men and women were hosted to a show day at Jacks, Lautoka store yesterday where the selected players greeted the members of the public.
