Suva defeats Macuata in Labasa

Suva defeated Macuata 34-16 in the fourth round of the Skipper Cup competition at Subrail Park in Labasa.

Suva was leading in the first half, 13-6.

However, Macuata showed resilience and determination as they drew first blood in the second half, narrowing the margin to 11-13 in the 45th minute.

In the 50th minute, Macuata surged ahead in the contest as open side Emosi Rakari delivered a pivotal moment, propelling his team into the lead with a score of 16-13.

In a turn of events, Suva’s no.8 Mosese Naiova emerged as the hero for his team, he scored two tries for the team to extend their lead, 25-16.

They capitalised on their momentum, extending their lead with a well-executed penalty, bringing the score to 27-16.

Suva’s victory was sealed in spectacular fashion as prop Uraia Merekula crossed the try line, extending their lead to 34-17.
