Upgrade works at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital is expected to begin soon.
“We have also initiated meetings with the Ministry of Health regarding CWMH and plans are in place to immediately start upgrading within the next two to three weeks,” said Minister for Public Works Ro Filipe Tuisawau in Parliament this week.
“There was a question on why was the Construction Implementation Unit (CIU) created and shifted from PWD?
“If you analyse the Office of the Auditor-General’s Report, there was basically no basis for it, no technical basis or professional basis for moving away the technical people from there into that office.
“The conclusion is, when you look at the contractors they hired or engaged, most of them are in the list of the FijiFirst financiers.”
