The Nadi Magistrate’s Court has taken into its possession the passport of a juvenile who allegedly punched a fellow student in Nadi this week.
The 15-year-old who was captured on camera allegedly landing a punch on his schoolmate faces one count of assault causing actual bodily harm.
Magistrate Sherlyn Kiran warned the high school student to be on his best behaviour, not to interfere with witnesses and not to re-offend.
The boy’s lawyer, Mun Sami Chetty, submitted that his client was a first offender, not a flight risk, had a fixed address and his father was ready to be his surety.
He was released on a $500 bail bond.
The matter will be called again on March 13.
