Members of the public are being advised that new speed humps will be installed at Medraukutu Bridge in Lami on both approaches along Queens Road on Saturday, February 24, 2024 from 9pm to 5am

According to the Fiji Roads Authority (FRA), the purpose of these speed humps is to impose a speed limit on the existing bridge and minimize any further damage to its structures.

“These measures are being taken as an immediate mitigation effort before the construction of a new bridge next year,” the FRA said.

“We kindly request all drivers to exercise caution and reduce their speed while approaching and crossing Medraukutu Bridge.

“This will not only ensure the safety of all road users but also help in preserving the integrity of the bridge until the new one is built.

“Members of the public travelling along this route to take this notice into account when finalising travel plans.”
