Parents and guardians are to visit schools or district offices if their children’s transport cards are blocked or have not been updated, says Ministry of Education permanent secretary Selina Kuruleca.
Some parents had raised their concerns with this newspaper that their children subsidised blue e-transport cards were not working.
Ms Kuruleca said she was aware of the complaint and that many students were facing different issues in regard to the bus fare assistance for students.
“They have to redeem first at the district offices or schools then activate it at Vodafone outlets,” she said.
Ms Kuruleca told this newspaper, they were addressing the issue on a case-by-case basis.
“If cards are blocked or not updated, they would need to visit the district offices or schools that their children attend to verify and redeem.”
She said about $6,074,468.26 was offered for the bus assistance scheme.
