In a dazzling celebration of music, love, and feel-good sound trips of Swedish pop group, ABBA, the Civic Centre in Suva is gearing up to host the first-ever production of the iconic musical “Mamma Mia!”

The world-renowned musical will be held over nine days of nonstop infectious tunes beginning on February 9.

Founder and Director of The Festivals Company Sharleen Ali said the performances will feature the beloved songs of ABBA, including chart-topping hits like “Dancing Queen,” “Waterloo,” and, of course, the titular “Mamma Mia.”

“The musical is happening next month between February 9-17.

“So there are 12 lead characters and the rest are our ensemble.

“We’ve also got eight musicians that will be playing live throughout the show.

“It’s a completely live musical where you have live music, live singing, live dancing and live video as well.

“Whether you’re a longtime fan of the musical or a newcomer to the world of “Mamma Mia!,” this production is poised to leave an indelible mark on Suva’s cultural landscape,” said Ms. Ali.

Celebrating the arts and local talent in Fiji is what the public can expect at the end of each show as musical theatre is fairly new to Fiji.
