Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) deputy director David Cohen is in the country.
It is understood that Mr Cohen will be meeting with officials during his visit.
According to the CIA website, Mr Cohen was sworn into his role in January 2021.
He had previously served in the role from 2015 to 2017.
The CIA described the deputy director’s role as one that supports the CIA director to manage intelligence collection, as well as analysis, counterintelligence, covert action, and liaison relationships with foreign services.
Mr Cohen has also been awarded the Distinguished Intelligence Medal for his accomplishments.
