The Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) is taking the fight to the Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka over his decision to sack Aseri Radodro from Cabinet.

At an emergency working committee meeting in Suva yesterday, party executives discussed a resolution that Mr Radrodro to keep his job and for the party to call for the resignation of the Prime Minister. SODELPA general secretary Viliame Takayawa said they were being treated as “a submissive woman to an abusive partner”.

“We’ve sent letters of concern to the Prime Minister in the last six months but we never got a reply from him,” Mr Takayawa said.

“If that is how a marriage works, where your wife does not talk to you for six months, chaos will happen and that is what’s happening now.

“The party does not have any confirmation in terms of why or the reasons of the dismissal.”

Mr Takayawa said they decided yesterday for the convening of SODELPA’s management board this Friday.

“One of the resolutions includes the Education Minister to keep his position and for the current Prime Minister to step down and give the leadership position to Deputy Prime Minister, Manoa Kamikamica,” Mr Takayawa added.

Working commiittee member Jolame Uludole agreed this was the right action to take.

“That is one of the resolutions in our proposal,” he said.
