A total of 60,580 account holders with the Unit Trust of Fiji (UTOF) were paid a total dividend of $5.5 million yesterday.
This is UTOF’s second dividend payout for its financial year ended December 31, 2023.
In making the announcement, UTOF Management Ltd chairwoman Lavenia Kaumaitotoya said the dividend returns are competitive compared to what’s currently available in the market.
“The final dividend rate for the second six months of 2023 for the Income and Growth Fund (IGF) is 3.5 cents per unit with a total approximate payout amount of $4.9 million to our 42,031 IGF account holders,” Ms Kaumaitotoya said.
“This brings the total dividend rate for the year 2023 to seven cents per unit, a total payout of $9.6m, which is $4.7m and $4.9m for the interim and final dividend respectively.”
Annualised dividend rate for UTOF’s Income Fund was 2.75 per cent, equating to an estimated sum of $0.6m, declared and paid out to 18, 549 account holders.
“This rate is highly competitive in contrast to the current offering in domestic fixed income market where similar short terms investment options yield less than one per cent,” Ms Kaumaitotoya said.
UTOF’s full year financial performance is being audited and will be released in March.
