It is said a love story has two great moments, one, on the day you meet your soulmate, and two, the day you get married. Sivanjani Kumar and Shivam Raj first met during a Ramayan event.
It was during this time that Shivam could not help but admire her from afar.
While Sivanjani did not notice him much during that time, she said fate drew them together for the first time in 2013.
Shivanjani said their 10-year relationship had its ups and downs, but never did they let that affect their love for each other.
Through sunny and cloudy moments, they chose to focus on the good and strived to be the best for each other.
“My husband is a very kind, caring and a very loving person. He always chooses to listen to me and fulfills my daily life demands,” Shivanjani said.
When the time finally came for the next chapter in their lives, Shivam made a heartfelt decision to pop the question of marriage to Sivanjani during one of their many conversations on the phone.
Shivam informed Sivanjani that he wanted her to be his life partner and soulmate. After planning their wedding down to the details, their fairy-tale wedding came true on September 3, 2023, at the bride’s home in Daramu, Labasa.
It was a three-day celebration that began from September 1 which consisted of the traditional Hindu pre-wedding rituals — the mehendi and tilak night, haldi ceremony and the wedding ritual.
Sivanjani was styled in her stunning traditional bridal outfit with her mehendi, hair and makeup done by Kalpana Bridal, that perfectly matched her groom’s outfit. Her amazing wedding ordered from Shriji in Lautoka and jewellery decoration by Teju’s Bridal.
She said the weddings was both emotional and fun. There was a lot of dancing and laughter as well.
Entertainers Rakesh Chand Bobby and group kept everyone in high spirits. “I just wanted my dream wedding to be done that way and without any problems.
“I got really nervous on the day of the wedding when I saw my baraat (groom). it was emotional seeing him and realising that our day had finally arrived.
“I would like to thank everyone who contributed in any particular way towards hosting my dream wedding,” she said.
The couple added that showing love and respect to their parents have molded them to become successful individuals in life.
Now they hope to teach the same to the next generation .
