Applications for the Flying Fijians coaching job will close on Friday.

All applications are being handled by Australian company, Global Elite Sports in liaison with the Fiji Rugby Union.

“They will go through the applications, shortlist and then send it over for us to commence interviews and all will be finalised by the end of January as we promised,” Fiji Rugby interim chair Peter Mazey said.

“I’m aware that both overseas and local coaches have applied, I don’t know who’s it in, but I do know that some locals which I won’t name have contacted me saying they’ve applied.

Once a name is in we still have to negotiate contracts and everything so they may say no because coaches are very highly paid these days so we have to work with them.”

Senirusi Seruvakula is currently the acting Flying Fijians coach after Simon Raiwalui left the job to take up the general manager high performance unit post with World Rugby.
