Lautoka City Council former CEO dies

Lautoka City Council (LCC) former chief executive officer, Pusp Raj died in Australia on New Year’s Day while on holiday with his family.

In a statement Lautoka City Council acting CEO Rouhit Karan Singh said he was saddened by the news.

“He held high respect amongst ratepayers, workers and stakeholders,” Mr Singh said.

Mr Raj was a well-known figure who guided many through his exemplary leadership.

He was also the national secretary and president of Fiji Local Government Officers Association (FLGOA) for 18 years.

“He set the right foundation in protection of workers’ rights in municipalities and delivered his obligations with due diligence and integrity.

“He always motivated people and shared his experiences. Mr Raj has left a strong footprint in many hearts and will be remembered for a long time.”

According to records, Mr Raj was also recognised for his meritorious service when he was awarded the Member of the Order of Fiji in 2015.

“The LCC and FLGOA prays for strength and peace for the grieving family.”
