Syme set for Coral Coast 7s

Rico Syme, a rising rugby talent from Christchurch New Zealand, has recently been selected by David Campese to be part of the McDonald’s Ambassador All-Star side for the Fiji’s Coral Coast 7s in Sigatoka later this month.

This prestigious selection has set high expectations for Rico as he looks forward to the tournament and the opportunity to play with and against some of the best players in the world.

The 24-year-old is excited about the prospect of immersing himself in the Fijian culture.

Rico has expressed his admiration for the people of Fiji and is looking forward to getting to know his teammates.

Having visited Fiji numerous times, he has developed a deep appreciation for the country and its people.

Rico’s admiration for rugby players such as Benji Marshall and Jerry Tuwai reflects his love for the game and his aspiration to make a significant impact on the sport.

He has always been inspired by the way Marshall changed the game of league and put on a thrilling performance, while Tuwai’s exceptional footwork and vision have made him one of the best sevens players in the world.

“Being selected by a legend like David Campese for a prestigious tournament like the Coral Coast 7s is a humbling experience, really grateful for the opportunity to showcase my skills in such a high-quality event,” said Syme.

The Coral Coast 7s will kick off on January 19 at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka.
