The 22-year-old who jumped off an inter island vessel outside Nabouwalu waters is believed to be mentally unstable and is in police custody.
The young man jumped off the vessel as it sailed towards Natovi on Wednesday afternoon.
Divisional police commander North Senior Superintendent of Police Kemueli Baledrokadroka said the man, after jumping off the vessel, was retrieved from the sea by crew members.
