Denarau Golf and Racquet Club will be hosting Fiji PGA Championship which is being sponsored by Vuksich and Borich.
The event which will be held on January 13 is supported by Gateaway Technology, Fiji PGA and Millbrook Hills Law Partners.
Denarau Golf Club manager Amitesh Chandra said it will be the third year for the event to be staged and will see top professional golfers with the likes of Vikrant Chandra competing for top prizes.
This championship caters for golfers of every skill level, offering a platform for both seasoned professionals and enthusiastic amateurs to showcase their prowess.
The professionals will participate for a total prize pool of $10,000 with the winner walking away with $3000.
For amateurs, the challenge is just as exciting, with an 18-hole contest boasting prizes worth $3,500up for grabs.
“Participants from all walks of golfing life will gather at the venue, eager to test their skills and claim their stake in this golfing spectacle. The day will begin with registration at 9am, followed by an event briefing at 9:50am to set the stage for the day’s unfolding drama. At 10am, the Shotgun will Tee-off. Entry is open to all, with visitors welcomed at $120.00, members enjoying a special rate of $80.00, and professionals entering the elite competition at $200. Adding to the excitement are special features like the Nearest the Pin and Longest Drive contests, ensuring that every swing holds the potential for glory. The day concludes with a sumptuous buffet lunch, providing a perfect opportunity for participants to share tales of triumphs and challenges on the course.
“With competition categories spanning Men’s A, B, C, and Seniors Grade (70 Plus), the championship accommodates diverse golfing talents. Men, donning the challenge of the Blue Tees, and Seniors, on the White Tee, will vie for top honors. Maximum handicaps are set at 32 for men and 45 for ladies, with the Red Tees offering a distinct challenge,” Chandra concluded.
