The three-party Coalition Government can hold itself together despite differing views because members listen to each other and decisions were people-centered.
Speaking to The Fiji Times five days away from Government’s first year in office, Finance Minister and National Federation Party leader Professor Biman Prasad said discussions were held openly and “no one was fearful”.
“We have a consultative approach,” he said, while admitting the parties did not necessarily see eye to eye on everything.
“I may or may not see eye to eye with everything that happens within Government, but the fact is that a coalition government can also be very good.
“I think what I have seen over the last 11 to 12 months is that because we are a three-party coalition, sometimes things may be a bit slow but what comes out at the end of the day, is a good outcome for the people.”
That’s the big news on the front page of The Fiji Times for Tuesday, December 19.
