A second group of approved applicants for the Trade Enhancement Program, an initiative by the Ministry of Trade, Co-operatives, SMEs and Communications, have completed a three-day training workshop to prepare them for entrepreneurship.

Addressing the 17 participants, chief business adviser at the Department of Co-operatives for the Ministry of Trade, Ateca Rounds said, “I hope the learning grained through this training will go beyond today.”

“I’d like to share with all our businesspeople, our MSMEs, our co-operatives, that you must always have a vision. Then you plan backwards and set your goals.

“I know you will all implement the things you have learned,” Ms Rounds said.

Participant Malakai Soi said he was grateful for receiving support to bring his business plans into reality.

Having felt uncertain about his vision, he was now ready to step into the service industry for a secondary income.

Participant Rachael Narayan said, “The training made hard things simple, focusing on sharing useable information in easy words. With this newfound understanding I am now prepared to start a successful business journey.”

Another participant Samuel Zinck said he was eager to learn in order to improve his business.

Participant Michelle Narayan in thanking the ministry says, “their trust and provision of resources have been instrumental in our growth and development.”

The three-day workshop was facilitated by the Ministry of Trade MSME business trainer Aslam Khan.
