THE 2023 Vodafone Fiji Ratu Sukuna Bowl football title will stay in Nasova for at least another year.
This after the Al Hamd Smart Living Police side held challengers Army to a 1-all draw at the Fiji Football Academy Ground in Vatuwaqa, Suva yesterday.
Police went into the match missing key players who are on national duties at the Pacific Games in Solomon Islands.
The men in blue got the opening goal from the boots of Mohammed Zaid who neatly finished off a move executed by midfielder Madhwan Gounder.
Police led 1-nil at the break.
Army applied pressure and were rewarded when star striker Christpoher Wasasala headed in the equaliser from a Wallace Bali free kick early in the second spell.
Army had the best of opportunities to get a winner but poor finishing and good goal keeping saw the match finish tied 1-all.
As per competition rules, Police keeps the trophy as Army needed to win the match as challengers.
