Thirteen students have graduated with a Diploma in Dance from VOU’s Conservatorium of Dance in a graduation ceremony held at Nadi’s Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa.

Chief guest at the function was the Pacific Community’s deputy director general Dr Paula Vivili.

He told the graduates that as they celebrate their accomplishment, it would put them in a better stead to take on and be successful in the journey called life.

“Don’t just dance for yourself, your families, friends and for VOU. Do it for the many of us here who would love to dance but can’t because we missed out on the talent when it was dished out,” Mr Vivili said.

He congratulated VOU for developing the Diploma in Dance program which the graduates were awarded.

“The graduates are the most highly trained professionals in the region, completing over 1600 hours of dance studio class time in order to receive this diploma.

“It is very impressive to see that they have acquired skills in a wide range of dance genres including iTaukei meke, Bollywood, jazz, hip hop, ballet and contemporary dance to name a few.”
