The Labasa Airport will be upgraded with a modern terminal, says Minister for Sugar Charan Jeath Singh.
Speaking at the opening of Bred Bank in Labasa on Saturday night, Mr Singh said this investment was imperative as more people had travelled through the Waiqele Airport.
“I know a lot of business owners have asked about the upgrade of Labasa Airport for many years,” he said.
“The Coalition Government has invested to do this project for the people of Vanua Levu.
“Labasa will have a modern terminal in six months time.”
Long-time businessman Paul Jaduram was a happy man as he often raised this issue over the past years. Mr Jaduram said queries raised over the past years had finally been heard.
“We are happy and it’s about time Labasa have a proper terminal as it is a very busy airport.”
