Tropical Depression 02F has intensified into a Tropical Cyclone at 6pm today and has been named Mal.
According to the Fiji Meteorological Office in Nadi, TC Mal was located at about 655km West-NorthWest of Rotuma and at about 945km NorthWest of Yasawa-I-Rara.
The weather office said TC Mal is expected to track to the west of Fiji within the next 24 to 48 hours and approach the group as a category 2 system.
“Expect gale-force winds to affect especially the western division from tomorrow.”
