Easing climate change impacts is everyone’s role, says Holy Trinity Anglican Cathedral church priest Father Orisi Vuki.

He shared this message at the men’s fellowship church service held at the cathedral on Sunday, where he urged members to work with others in easing climate change impacts.

“Climate change is real and we see that in our own villages and even at homes with the different weather we now face,” he said.

“This was one of the messages during the service because they too can teach their families especially their children.

“Keeping the environment, like their compounds clean at all times greatly helps and it’s the little we do that makes a difference.”

Mr Orisi said church members from Navua also attended the service.

“We had invited our members from Ovalau but they couldn’t attend but this church service will be held more often for our men’s fellowship,” he said.

“We also remembered those in Gaza and we prayed for them because the suffering they are going through isn’t easy and we share the pain they have.

“We prayed for God’s comfort in their families because losing loved ones is never easy.”

Mr Orisi added that the church service was held after a lapse of one year.

“It’s important that we continue to have this service to remind each other about our roles in leadership as heads of our families and in church too.”
