The Nadi side is gearing up to compete in the 2023 Futsal Inter District Championship (IDC) that will kick-start from Thursday at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.
The four-day competition will see top districts clash for the coveted trophy. “Our preparation is going well and we will give our best in the tournament,” said Nadi futsal director Manoj Kumar.
He said players trained every afternoon at the Andrews Primary School grounds and they were confident of their chances.
“As we approach the end of the Digicel Fiji National Futsal League Western Division, where we have only one or two matches left, it has been a very successful season, as we are at the top of the table.” Kumar said they had secured the services of Suva striker Rusiate Matarerega for the tournament.”
Rusiate (Matarerega) will join our camp in Suva when we reach there and his experience will work to our advantage.
“We are training on a grass pitch here as we do not have a proper futsal turf in the West.”
Ba is the defending champion after beating Suva 7-6 in the final last year.
