A week after announcing it will retain its Pacific operation, Westpac Bank has begun its re-branding through the launch of new corporate uniforms designed to reflect local cultures in both its Fiji and Papua New Guinea branches.
Westpac Fiji’s new ‘Bula Wear’ corporate wardrobe, launched at its in-house fashion show over the weekend, features a selection of patterns and uniform designs that will be worn by more than 500 staff in 15 branches across Fiji.
“Traditionally our ‘Bula wear’ uniform was one piece for staff but everyone had a say and the majority wanted Bula wear as our mainstream uniform. We’ve chosen fabric that’s suited to our climate and have gone with a local manufacturer. This initiative and investment has come at a great time and we will proudly continue supporting our customers and businesses to grow,” said Westpac Fiji chief executive officer Shane Smith.
The architect behind these exclusive uniform designs for both Westpac Fiji and Papua New Guinea, was Westpac brand manager, James Lee.
“I knew the two different motifs needed to reflect this rich aspect but also integrate our Westpac logo in such a way as to convey our Pacific unity. Overall I wanted this to be a uniform that our people can be proud to wear as we serve our customers in the field or in-branch,” he said.
Westpac’s ‘Bula wear’ uniform will only be worn on Fridays while a second batch will be corporate uniforms for staff to wear on Monday through to Thursday.
Customers and members of the public can expect to see the new uniforms on Westpac Fiji staff in the weeks to come.
