Tavua Football Club has managed to secure a spot in the semi-finals of the 2023 Courts Inter-District Championship after defeating Seaqaqa 3-nil in their last pool game of the premier division.

Head coach Diva Singh says his side’s performance at the Fiji Football Association Academy ground was a testament to the hard work and dedication of the players for the past few weeks.

“I’m very happy with the way the boys played today (yesterday) because all of their hard work over these past three weeks is finally bearing fruits,” Singh said.

“They have improved since their last game on Tuesday, but we still have a few areas we need to sharpen.”

With a handful of young players in his side, Singh said the players managed to blend well with their senior players in securing the win.

“I’m happy with the way our younger players performed today, we saw that they blended and communicated with our senior players on the field.”

Singh said patience and ball control was the two major areas his side looked into before their match against Seaqaqa yesterday.

“Our game today showed a lot of improvement, so we are looking forward to the semi-finals.”
