FIJI Water Flying Fijians blindside flanker Lekima Tagitagivalu knows too well the physical power of Georgia’s players.
Having played against some of them at his Pau club and the French Top 14 competition, Tagitagivalu is looking forward to a real battle.
“They are a very physical team, very tough. We need to match that physicality and play well like Fijian and try to beat them on the outside. We’ll focus on our game plan, and we’ll see what we’ll give on Saturday,” the Yasawa man said.
“Most of their players that are playing in France, from one to 15 they love to attack our ruck and that’s what we’ve been working on all this week.”
Fiji contact coach Senirusi Seruvakula said it was important that the side do the basics right to keep the Lelos at bay.
“I believe the area that Georgia will be working on is our mistakes in carrying the ball. If we go high with our body position, they’ve been very good in holding the players up with the ball,” he said.
“So, we’re working on that this week, so we carry hard, we clean hard and we work on our position in contact. Those are the areas that we are working on going towards the Georgia game.”
Fiji and Georgia will go head-to-head at the Stade de Bordeaux at 3.45am in what is expected to be a physical encounter.
