As senior prefects of Ratu Sukuna Memorial School prepare for the upcoming external exams, their leadership roles have been shifted to the newly inducted junior prefects of the school.
Last week RSMS had its junior prefects’ induction at the school which signified the change in leadership
This activity allows the younger students to take up leadership roles and new responsibilities within the school while the senior students retire from their duties.
The chief guest at this event was the Fiji Police Force community policing director, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Salanieta Radaniva.
SSP Radaniva in a Police statement spoke to the newly inducted prefects on the importance of their role.
“You will have to lead by example as your peers will be observing you,” she said.
She said as junior prefects, their responsibilities were twofold — to ensure that order is maintained in school as well as being prepared for leadership roles they might take up in the future.
“God has appointed you today because he sees the good in your hearts,” she said.
“So use this opportunity to do good and assist those who need your assistance.”
She acknowledged the school heads and management on behalf of the Acting Commissioner of Police for inviting the force to be part of the induction. Parents, guardians, and teachers participated in the induction by badging the selected prefects during the ceremony.
