The Nadroga rugby team has busy schedule ahead – defending the Farebrother Sullivan Trophy and playing the Skipper Cup semi-final.
The Etonia Naba-coached side faces Namosi this Saturday at Lawaqa Park in the first Farebrother Trophy Challenge match, with Naitasiri, Suva and Nadi lined up next.
“We face Suva straight after the Farebrother Challenge games in the Skipper Cup semi-final and I can say it is a very tough time-table for us,” team manager Isikeli Basiyalo said.
“We are preparing well for the Namosi clash as they are a strong side and will come for the trophy.”
Basiyalo added mental toughness, fatigue and injuries are the key aspects that the players need to be mindful of in the next few weeks.
“We play all the top teams in the country, week after week and it is a tough task to keep the players 100 per cent fit each week.
“However, we will not take any team lightly as this is the final stage of the competition- challenge stage.”
He said the players would be rotated so that injuries do not creep up within the camp.
“Maybe the toughest time-table for the year for us but we will give our best shot in each game.”
Basiyalo confirmed that Fijian Drua squad players Taniela Rakuro and Michael Naitokaniare expected to be fit for the match against Naitasiri.
The match against Namosi kicks off at 3pm.
