The Reserve Bank of Fiji (RBF) says it is aware of a scheme presently operating in Fiji known as “EbayShop Online Recruitment”.
And the central bank says that business operation was neither licensed nor registered with the RBF.
The Reserve Bank advised members of the public to take strong precautions when engaging in schemes operated through unlicensed entities.
It stated that fraudulent schemes came in various forms, “with sophisticated means to lure people into investing their hard earned savings”.
“All such schemes eventually collapse and should be avoided at all costs,” the RBF stated.
“The best way to protect yourself is to know how to tell a scam from a genuine offer.”
