TOURISM Fiji’s regional director New Zealand Wayne Deed has been appointed the new acting CEO of the organisatoin.
Mr Deed takes over from former acting CEO Ken Freer who resigned last month.
Tourism Fiji chairman Stefan Pichler said Mr Deed had the necessary experience required to manage the functions of Tourism Fiji until a substantive CEO was appointed.
“He will be supported by a very experienced team of professionals in our head office in Nadi,” he said.
Tourism Fiji also announced a second appointment — marketing manager Michelle Sinott to take over as acting director of Gobal Marketing.
Mr Pichler said both appointments would benefit the authority in 2015.
“The 2015 Budget allocation has allowed the Tourism Fiji board to establish our strategic direction and global scope of work for the next year already,” he said.
“With the current dynamic team in place, Wayne and Michelle will ensure that Tourism Fiji will deliver accordingly during their tenures as acting CEO and acting director Global Marketing, so as to facilitate a smooth handover when the new CEO comes on board in the new year.
“The Tourism Fiji board is confident in their abilities to tide the organisation through the transition process and is committed to supporting them.”
