Burger King Fiji has again expressed its commitment to support the education of needy children by handing over a cheque of $10,000 to the Foundation for the Education of Needy Children (FENC) in Nadi yesterday.

General manager Akash Narsey said their commitment to supporting FENC Fiji had grown stronger over the years and the results had been encouraging.

“Through relentless dedication and the unwavering support of our Burger King customers, we have successfully raised an astounding $110,000 to date,” he said.

“This achievement is a testament to the kindness and generosity that our community exudes.

“Our efforts to collect funds have been manifold — from charity boxes strategically placed across all Burger King outlets to the exceptional response we receive from our BK Airside store, our team works tirelessly to ensure that every dollar counts in making a positive impact.”

FENC Fiji head of operations Nirmala Nambiar said this timely assistance would allow the NGO to reach out to the community and equip needy children with school supplies for the new academic year.

“At FENC Fiji, our efforts continue to break the circle of poverty by ensuring every needy child has access to education which in turn will stop the ripple effects of poverty through generations,” Ms Nambiar said.

“Burger King has supported FENC Fiji with the support of about $100,000 for the desperately needy and poorest of the poor children.

“We are delighted to receive another $10,000 from them.”

Ms Nambiar said funds received would ease the burden, enormous stress and worries which many poor parents carried when they send their children to school. Burger King has been supporting FENC Fiji since 2017.
