Six teams secure places in quarters

A total of six teams have secured their spots in the Vodafone Deans Trophy national quarterfinals after the national playoffs concluded on Saturday at Subrail Park in Labasa.

In the under-15 grade, Lelean Memorial School managed to beat Khalsa College 22-0 while Nasinu Secondary School defeated Holy Cross College 18-3.

The two winners will feature in the national quarterfinals.

Suva Grammar School survived a close scare from Saint Bedes College, after edging the Savusavu-based school 22-21 in the under-17 grade.

Meanwhile, Lelean also managed to secure a spot in the nationals after beating Labasa College 15-0.

And in the under-19 grade, Naitasiri Secondary School proved its worth after edging a determined Navatu Secondary 17-16, while Queen Victoria beat Dreketi College 26-21.

The national quarterfinals will be held at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva on August 12 alongside the Weet-Bix Raluve Competition under-18 and under-16 quarterfinals.
