The inaugural Makete fashion show was a huge hit as all 160 seats were sold out, boosting the confidence of organisers in hosting similar shows in the Western and Northern divisions.
The event saw 10 designers, showcase their latest work to fashion enthusiasts in the Capital City.
The show, which was held at the recently renovated Suva Flea Market, featured six tailors and designers from the Suva Flea Market container mall in a bid to promote and market micro, small and medium enterprises.
Organisers said the show also featured 68 micro/small enterprises which included not clothing and accessories designers, tailors, handicraft artisans, service providers and other small businesses.
Deputy Prime Minister and Trade, Co-operatives, SMEs and Communications Minister Manoa Kamikamica along with Sulueti Rabuka were among the guests at the show and were impressed with the collections show cased on Saturday evening.
The success of the show has motivated organisers to have it as an annual event and move it to other towns across the country.
