The Kaiviti Silktails once again proved why they are a force to reckon with this season following their 28-10 win against the Ryde Eastwood Hawks side in round 16 of the Ron Massey Cup competition at Churchill Park in Lautoka yesterday.
The match was also a tribute to former Silktails general manager Jacquie Shannon as both sides played in her honour for the Memorial Bowl.
The Silktails win yesterday has put them one step closer for a semi-final spot in the competition.
It took the Silktails 14 minutes to find a way through teh Hawks defence after a barnstorming run by Sirilo Lovokuroto the tryline.
A minute later, Silktails extended their lead to 12-0 after Simione Cakauniqio went over the tryline.
The Hawk’s replied with a try to Cougar Wheeler. In the second spell, the Silktails scored three tries to take a comfortable 28-6 lead.
The Hawk’s side had the last say with a try.
