Fijiana Drua captain Bitila Tawake and team mate Jade Coates have joined the Waikato Women’s Rugby side to play in the Farah Palmer Cup in New Zealand.
The competition will be played over the next two months with 13 teams competing in two grades.
Tawake’s Waikato Women’s side will play in the Premiership, the top-tier competition. Tawake was named in the Fijiana Drua squad for their first Super W competition. She captained the Drua in their debut match against the Rebels.
Tawake captained the Fijiana at the 2022 Oceania Championship in New Zealand.
She led her side in their record trouncing of Papua New Guinea.
Coates hails from Nananu Village in Tailevu and has been a prominent player for the Fijiana Drua team.
The Waikato women’s side is coached by former Flying Fijian Greg Smith.
